Chapter Ten

A Darkened Night, A New Beginning

“So um. What else do you like to do for fun around here?” Sophie asked as she stared into her half empty glass of wine. The food was finished and dinner was over. But still they talked late into the night. Sophie thought about the liquid in her glass. It was as shiny and beautiful as the fine crystal it was swirling in. So smooth and delicate, so beautiful and full of rich colors and flavor. It was truly delectable.

And then she looked up to look at Daisy who gazed intently with a little twinkle in her eyes. And a purposeful smirk. “Hm, a little of this. A little of that. Usually I just sit and read. Sometimes I listen to music. Try to find something I like. But not sure if that’s something I’m truly passionate about.” Daisy spoke. “What about movies? What do you like? What type of art would you like to make?” Sophie wondered. Her mind was filled with interest and desire.

“I do not know.” Daisy slightly frowned. “Perhaps...” she sighed. Sophie leaned in close. “You look like the type of girl who can do anything.” she said. Daisy frowned again. “Sometimes I doubt it. Half the time I think I should just stick to what I am actually good at.” she said. Sophie looked at her a little sad. She wanted Daisy to feel better than this.

Their eyes were as deep as the now darkened room was solemn when they looked at each other. Sophie leaned in closer. “Why don’t you… just take the plunge? And… try to do something you’re too afraid to do right now. You never know what’s gonna happen. You might just end up becoming the very best porn star in the world.” she chuckled teasingly. Daisy scoffed.

“You look more the type, dearest.” Daisy smirked. “You have that… airiness about you.” she said. “Air… what do you mean?” Sophie asked. “Exactly.”

Sophie scoffed. “Oh I see… you think I’m dumb.” she said. “Not dumb… just… a bit airy.” Daisy snickered. Sophie rolled her eyes. “Wow… and here I was thinking… nah, you know what? I’m not letting you off the hook with your meanness. There’s something I want and you’re gonna give it to me.” Sophie ordered.

“Oh? And what’s that?” Daisy wondered. Sophie leaned in real close and rested her face almost up against Daisy’s. “You know what I want. It’s obvious.” Sophie softly breathed. Daisy looked into her eyes. “Really?” she asked. “Really...”

“I want you to tell me where the bathroom is cus I gotta take a piss.” Sophie laughed in Daisy’s face. Daisy scoffed… and then she laughed as well. “It’s downstairs, go find it yourself, tart.” Daisy snickered. “Thank you!” Sophie said as she quickly stood up. Then she walked to the little staircase leading down to the living area. But right before she stepped down she turned back and paused.

“What will we do when I get back?” Sophie asked. Daisy softly chuckled. “You’ll see.
